When I first signed up for KRC I HAAAAATTTTEEEDDD running. I still don’t love it but I no longer hate it. I enjoy the meditation time, health benefits, and group runs. I’ve become addicted to the medals just like Brother Relentless Rick said we might.
I love that KRC is open to all levels! And they take a holistic approach to training. The KRC training staff is great! I really have a ton of respect for them and grateful that I had the pleasure of meeting them all.

2015-16 were truly years of transformation for me. In the past two years I have lost 300+ lbs through lifestyle changes in diet and exercise. Along the process I have stood on the Word that God would restore my health speedily. God has been absolutely faithful to his word. Since about 11 years old I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and was said to be pre-diabetic. I also had many other health challenges that come from being overweight. About 6 months ago my doctor gave me a clean bill of health, said I no longer needed blood pressure medicine and could manage any threat of diabetes with healthy living. That is such a blessing.

The desire for more of the word led me to Living Word last year. Pastor stated that the kingdom running club will be running a marathon next Sunday. I thought to myself a running club yes this is where I’m supposed to be.
My family was worried at first. Because 2015 marks 20 years since my heart surgery and five years since I had a brain tumor removed.

I understood their concerns because I do have a tube in my brain and wires in my chest. But, the Bible says that the same spirt that raised Jesus from the dead lives on the inside of me; and that I can do all things through Christ who gives me the strength! The same God who healed me and continues to make ways out of no way, will help me run in this marathon. That’s exactly what He did!

To clarify, I’m not running a marathon; I’m running a half marathon this year. However, the reason I’m running is because I ran a marathon in 2008 and from that point until now I have never forgotten how wonderful and life changing of an experience that was for me. It was such an awesome sense of an accomplishment; each step was more proliferating than the next. I felt like I could do all things, not on my own but through Christ! And I’m ready to go through that experience again.
In addition, running for me is also about spiritual discipline. For me, it’s a spiritual boot camp for learning how to bring the flesh into submission. One biblical fact is that we all must die daily to our flesh, and considering running is definitely an experience my body would much rather do without; it has now become a spiritual MUST-HAVE! I know the spiritual training that comes through KRC will more than equip me to successfully accomplish my goals.
